Widgetbucks Review

Few days ago, I wrote about Widgetbucks, one of the latest advertising network, based on my first impression. After exploring the program for almost 5 days, things might not be as rosy as it seems. Now that the hype has reduced, it is time for a real objective review of Widgetbucks.

Positive

- Cost per clicks is high compared to other advertising network (for some popular categories)

- Free $25 sign up bonus

- Easy to set up ads from the template design to inserting the HTML codes

- Visual appeal of advertisements. Visitors are more likely to click on the ads.

Drawbacks

- Statistics is not real time. According to Widgetbucks, the advertiser will check for fraudulent clicks before getting back to Widgetbucks. After which, Widgetbucks will credit the revenue into our account. For my account, it took about 5 days for my revenue to show. This is way too long. I would prefer a real time statistic.

- High withdrawal amount at $50. Potential drawback for new bloggers.

- Referral commission is only valid for 12 months after the new member of yours join.

- No way I’m I experiencing a $3-$6 CPM on Widgetbucks widgets.

- No editing of the advertisment codes.If you analyse the codes close enough, it gives Widgetbucks a free link back from your website.

Tips

- The cost per clicks differ significantly between categories. Be sure to choose the category which you think is the one advertisers are willing to pay. For one category I only received $0.20 for 2 clicks whereas the other category I got paid $0.47 for one click.

Conclusion

My patience with Widgetbucks has almost vapourised that I wanted to tear down all the Widgetbucks ads from my blog. But surprisingly , my ads revenue got credited today. I’m sticking with only one banner ad and see how the program progresses from now on. Otherwise it is a total waste of my blog space.
