My eBay Sales Report For August 2007
I thought it will be good to share my eBay sales report for the month of August 2007. As mentioned in “Tips That Even Some eBay Sellers Do Not Know“, August and January are the slowest months in terms of sale in eBay. These two months are the period where most people left for vacations.
As shown in the chart below, my overall sales in June and July fared much better than August. There is a dip in sales in the slow moving month of August. The rule of thumb is either offer some sort of promotional sale in August to boost your sales or take a vacation. You will not be able to cover your eBay listing fees if your items do not sell.
The picture below shows the entire August 2007 summary. I’m selling items that are cheap which average US$13. It shows that you can really sell practically under the sun. Start looking around your room. Your junk may be someone else gem. Do refer to my article “Things That You Can Sell In eBay Auctions” if you need some inspiration of what you can sell. The list is definitely not conclusive. But it should give you a good guide to kick start your business in eBay.
I have been selling in eBay since 2001 and along the way I have made mistakes. Learning from the mistakes is the most important. Even now, I do make some mistakes here and there. I’m not shy to admit my mistakes and share with my readers.
Meanwhile, be patient if you do not achieve your sales target. Most customers are price sensitive nowadays. It will be worthwhile if you can perform your own market analysis with regards to the product you are selling.
I will be sharing more eBay tips and those mistakes I have made while I continuing blogging about making money online.

Missy, have you thought about buying liquidated clothing items to sell on ebay for major profits?? If you have a little room in the basement, you can start up your own liquidation stockroom. :)
I am a powerseller and I average 15-20k a month selling liquidated clothing. I also have a part-time liquidation business where I sell off pallets of clothing (100-150 pieces) for $800-1500 a pallet. What’s great about it, is I don’t have “bad” months or slow months because I keep great inventory in my ebay store at all times and people can shop when they want, day or night.
If you have any questions about it, let me know! I can get you started with a pallet today!
:)
